Boston to London in 5'15"

Thanks to a wicked tail wind, Carl and Fred's pond hop was made in near-record time.

Even though your family is living in England, Thanksgiving arrival is no different...

One sleeps (note legs in arms of snuggie), one finishes essay and one texts.

...though Alice did have to go to school.

Fred walks Alice to school.
I am so embarrassed and so happy you are here.
There are advantages to having your brothers pick you up at school.

Me and my bros.
They carry your kit.

Yo, piggy back ride?

Auditioning for RENT.
Gotta get home before dark, yo.

Ward family activities.  Some normal, some not so much...

Duke highlights.
I'm supposed to shower in here?  Like, no water pressure.

A trip to Norwich Cathedral.
14th century man was a tad short.

Mesmerizing 3D rendering of castle life.

Lucozade!

Saturday morning parkrun.

No PBs for Dad and Mom.

Chilly.

Carl came in 4th, Mom 147th and Fred 2nd.

Saturday afternoon we headed downtown to watch the Norwich Canaries play the Queens Park Rangers, thanks to Mr Berry and his ticket help!

Our man-on-the-street photographer forgot to include the "Norwich City..."

We sat in the Jarrold Stand.
Nice seats.

Fans are strictly separated at Euro footie matches.
We were 1 section away from The Visitors.  See arrow pointing to line of police wearing orange and yellow coats separating US from THEM.

Fans are required to sit during play to prevent injuries. Jumping up to gesture to the opposition is OK.
The only sporting event I have ever been to where Carmina Burana is a warm-up song.

The most important bet is which player will score the first goal.  Norwich's Martin (15) did.
Norwich over QPR 2-1.  Woo hoo!

See you in....

3 weeks!
Things We Learned:

1) Best TV show to watch  obsessively over Thanksgiving break with your family is CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM.

2) No need to make a pie crust in advance.

3) Boys home from college sleep all the time and on a weird schedule -- jet lag or not.

4) Mom will be able to use BBC program Frozen Planet for 8th grade science next year.  And no, Fred, the show is not also about our flat.

5) 5 people can live in our flat for 5 days and manage to shower and flush in sequence.

Onwards!

UPDATE: As the UK prepares for the biggest public sector strike in decades scheduled for this coming Wednesday, Heathrow is slammed with people trying to get out beforehand.  12 hour delays are predicted as immigration and boarder control staff walk out.   Carl and Fred are, as I type, at Heathrow and being offered €300 (direct credit to their debit cards) to take a flight 3 hours later.  Carl notes that being paid €100/hour to sit in an airport isn't all that bad.  We have suggested that they negotiate for wi-fi....
