Summer?

We have been living with rain and cold and high winds for the past week.  We are wearing tights and boots and wool scarves at the end of April. The winds were unusual, coming from the northeast, like a nor'easter. This wind allowed us to hear so clearly the Liverpool fan song to victory over our Canaries at Carrow Road on Saturday.* We do live 20 miles from the North Sea with not much in between.  Last week Alice went on a geography field trip in the Peak District.  Her friends were complaining that their ears were popping as they drove to ... 400 meters above sea level.  One geography teacher pointed out a most interesting land feature ... the hill. She spent 3 days wading into ice cold water to collect rocks and make measurements.

Functional fashion.

Today we awoke to the SUN ... and the summer uniform!

Onwards, warmerly.

* From EW: I saw Elvis Costello at the UEA in 2005.  Liverpool was in the UEFA Champions League final during the concert. They won on penalties during "Watching the Detectives."  He stopped, then led the crowd in "You'll Never Walk Alone."
