Carl and Fred go to Harvard - the more complete story, part 1

Two boys to college = not so much stuff.

A rental sienna, not ours

9 hours in the car was not so bad.   We were ill prepared for the tolls and had to reply on the children.  Go figure.   After passing endless strip malls and health care office parks, we concluded without much debate that Durham is a beautiful place to live.

How wonderfully luck we are to have friends the Lebel family right on the way in Southbury CT.  We pulled in, jumped out and played a much-needed hour of frisbee, basketball and badmitten.

We made all the children try a sip of Edouard's St Julian Bordeaux in honor of Carl and Fred going to college.

Wednesday we landed in Harvard Square

wow...

That evening we went to Menton for  the 4-course chef's tasting menu.

They may be going to Harvard, but...

They still run for the elevator to...

press the button first.

They are going to college?

Menton was excellent.  We unabashedly passed around the plates at each course 'till narry a morsel remained. Did this impress them so that they gave Eric and I our wine flights for free, apologizing for the loud tables near-by?  We also got a kitchen tour from the chef's table. We will go back.

Thursday morning, sport physicals and move in.

Onwards!
