First stop: The Royal Mews
One of the finer carriages we saw was the Gold State Coach...

7 meters long and weighs about 4 tons
We also saw the carriage Will and Kate rode in after the wedding:

SO EXCITED!
Next stop was the changing of the guard in front of Buckingham Palace. Some parts of the year this happens every day, while other parts of the day this only happens every other day (weather permitting). The band marches while guards with big guns follow behind.
First, inspection...

This took about 45 minutes
Next the band warmed up with a few jazz pieces.
Finally they marched out of Wellington Barracks to the Palace:
After this we went to Buckingham Palace and toured many rooms inside. In one of the rooms was Kate's wedding dress!!! Unfortunately no pictures allowed at all inside...but once we got outside to the Garden Café we got some delicious dessert:

Royal profiteroles (note the crown)!

Took a stroll through the Palace Gardens--very beautiful!
After this we viewed the Queen's gallery which is only open for a few months while the Queen is away at another palace. Lots of beautiful and old art!
Sadly, our Royal Day Out was over, and we had to head home. Due to work on the train line our route back to Norwich consisted of trains and buses. Tiring, but definitely worth it for a wonderful weekend! Hope to come back soon!
