At The Bus Queue, What To Do?

The queue for the bus. The pensive gentleman on the left is first. Then there is this very large space, then gentleman No. 2. Note the line of people *behind* No. 2. Why is this? Why are they not filling in the space between No. 1 and No 2, where there is a wall to lean up against? Why are they all squished up past No. 2 where there is no wall and some are even off the curb and round the corner? Is there something bad about that particular stretch of sidewalk? Is there something going on between No. 1 and No. 2?

The mind boggles. Note brown bag on ground in aforementioned space. Its mine. Yes, I overcame the manophobic vibe between No. 1 and No. 2 and the Evil Eye from the rest of the queue and occupied that space. Lovely space it was, nice wall and all. And when the bus came I was second to get on and got a seat. Behind me, to my surprise, the queue had disintegrated into a melee, a free-for-all, of people wanting to get on the bus first.

You say you want a revolution?

Was gentleman No. 1 smoking?

I usually obsessively check for a BT Openzone or BT Fon WiFi hotspot and try to connect my iPhone, accomplishing absolutely nothing but killing time.

@Anonymous, excellent question, one that Phil at TSN asked as well. No evidence of smoking, neither as I arrived nor as I stood there for 20 minutes.
